My Current Songs

Just a quick little Wednesday post.   I have been obsessed with these 4 songs for bit now and wanted to share them.

* I really wanted to share all the vidoes on this post but you tube is being a jerk so the first three are links.  Sorry face.   Still listen to them!!! *

4) My have a good cry-love-hate song.

Have you got any current song obsessions?  Share!  I love finding new music!

Who doesn't love "Tommy Boy"?

So this is quite the random/weird post.

My favorite movies ever are "Walk the Line", "Clue", and "Tommy Boy".

If you have ever seen "Tommy Boy" (if you haven't, please do...it's a classic) they travel around the Midwest.  They even show a road sign for Chippewa Falls in the movie (about 10 minutes from my now house).

So after the new special DVD came out and my parents bought it we opened it up.

Inside was a map of Wisconsin/Minnesota.  And you remember the Cluck Bucket scene?

Well according to this map, the Cluck Bucket actually is located in my hometown, Tomah.  I may be a huge freak (especially since this is one of my favorite movies) but I got super excited.  I mean Tomah is a town of less than 9,000 people!!!   That is super cool...right?  Well I think it is.

So it's Monday . . .

I don't know if you would classify my weekend as having gossip but whatevs...I'm still linking up with Leann.

As you know I was sick and I'm finally feeling like I can eat food again.

Last weekend my sister was at my house while we went out for a cousin's weekend, and then she was back this weekend to see some old friends.  Saturday at one point there was 5 kids at my house.  The oldest was Mason...not even 3.

It was crazy.

Don't worry...for watching my cousin's kids there was beer.  And all the adults were equipped with one.

The next few weeks are going to be crazy.  Mason will get a haircut, get his 3 year pictures taken, celebrate his birthday, go to an eye appointment and my husband has vacation.

Of course some of these things are good, but also make for a really busy next three weeks.

Oh...I am nominating myself for mom of the year because I am actually getting Mason's pictures done around his 3rd birthday.  We will forgo the fact his 2 year pictures were taken when he was 2 1/2.

Some quick points:

Last weekend I got my third tattoo....post to come this week.

Also I jumped on the Bloglovin' bandwagon and so now you can follow here.

I bought myself something nice and pretty.  Here.

And if you haven't noticed I have a new blog look.  I was iffy at first.  I loved it but my husband and some other people didn't seem to like it at all.  So in my true form, I freaked out and stressed.  Then I realized, it's a blog design.   And if I love it...who cares.  If someone doesn't want to read my shit stuff because of how my blog looks, then OK.  I'll live.

Anyways....there you go.  sorry for the break and happy happy Monday!!!

You have it all wrong SongPop . . .

First off I gotta be cheesy.  I love y'all and you really make me feel like I have some great friends/readers out there.

I love blogging in the sense I get to pour my heart out...and if someone comments or responds, it makes it that much better.

Today I plan on getting caught up on emails so if you have commented recently and I haven't reciprocated or responded....don't worry.

----------------------------------------------------

By now I am sure most of you have heard of SongPop.   I really love to play because I love all kinds of music and I actually know a lot of it.

Recently they added this feature of showing the town you live in to get you better connected with people around you.

However...in these 4 instances (and probably more to come), they couldn't be more wrong about where I am located.

So close...I live one state over.

They kept it in the Midwest at least.

Um, nope.  Not even close.

And when I thought they couldn't get any further away.

*I only blurred out one person's city because the other's either didn't show it or were completely wrong as well*

The only explanation I could have was that I talked/played games with a few people I met through blogging that live around those areas.

It's very entertaining though...I always tell my husband the next day what city I was in supposedly.

Oh & come back tomorrow because Katie & myself have a Favorite Things giveaway !!!

It Could Be Worse . . .

In my opinion, until you have a child you are mostly selfish. Especially in my case.

I never wanted to be sick, hurting, etc.   But ever since I had Mason, if he had a cold, I would wish I would instead.  If he hurt himself, I wished I would be the one hurting instead.
__________________________

Two weeks ago I noticed Mason had a rash.  It mostly was his back and sides.

We thought maybe it was a few things.  He had gotten new clothes and we didn't wash them before he wore them.  (Even though we had done that since he was around 9 months old).  We also had tried a different detergent.   Thinking he might be having a reaction, we switched back.

After a week I called the doctor and they said if it doesn't get better call back in a week.  Especially if he isn't sick because viruses are what usually cause rashes.

Week two arrives.   I finally make the doctors appointment.   I wasn't really worried because it was just a rash.  He was a bit itchy but didn't seem to bother him too much.

The doctor looked him over and *bragging moment* called him the perfect patient because he sat still and was friendly.   Finally he says, "do you want the good news or the bad news?"

I said "both"

Well the good news, it's not a big deal.

He has a manageable skin problem...eczema.

The bad news?

He will have it his whole life and it may eventually lead to asthma.

At first I was OK.  The doctor told us it was a hassle (himself and his children have it) but it wasn't life threatening.

Obviously that is good news.  I mean he has to put on special lotion every day and if he has flare ups put on a steroid lotion.

Then I get to the car and it hits me.

He will have it his whole life.

Will he get picked on?   Will girls think it's gross?  Will it affect his confidence?

And then I started crying.   I was/am so thankful it wasn't worse.  But I don't want my child to suffer.  I don't want him getting picked on.   Someone looking at him strange because he has this rash for a chunk of his life.  Thinking they might catch it or think he's gross.

I wish it would have happened to me.  I can handle it.  But what if he can't.

It may seem so trivial, but we all know how cruel and truthful kids can be...and then teenagers?   I don't even want to think about it.

Snuggling with his Sesame Street friends.

Playing with toys that were once mine.

Right now I had to vent/share my feelings.   I know it could be worse and thank the heavens all the time it isn't.   I will try not to show my worry to him.  But I just hope and pray it won't even be a problem.

I Hate Laundry

Helloooo.

Just wanted to drop in and say there won't be any posts this week.   And I realize I just contradicted myself.

I'm  a lot  behind on laundry, and I have to go into to public this week, so I have no choice but to do it.

Also the poor girl who is doing my new blog design has been waiting for me to answer this questionnaire for forever now and I don't want to hold it off any longer.  (holy run-on sentence)

And I need to get my butt onto finalizing things for the Midwest Blogger Meet up.

* Notice a pattern here?  I'm lazy. *

But I'll be back next week,  and I can almost promise you that by then, my laundry will be clean.   But not folded and put away.

Oh, and P.S. Next week Katie and I have a great giveaway for you!

What?! March?! Huh?!

Um...it's March.

What the hell, right?

In 1 month and 5 days my son will be 3.  That doesn't make me freak out.  At All.

When I realized this I started thinking, why don't I have a second kid?  You're getting old!   Then I remember that Fergie just got pregnant for the first time at 37.  Phew.

I don't even know why that matters.

Anyways...

I swear I had a funny post for yesterday. Then I got caught up in the Jodi Arias trial.  So much so that Guss got really mad at me because I was watching it during supper and completely ignoring the fact that we were supposed to be eating as a family. (sorry for the run-on sentence)

And now I'm posting on a Friday.   But you know what...Friday posts hardly ever get read.   Anyone else notice that?

I'm rambling...it could be Ron Swanson talking.
(sorry if you are new here and you don't know what I'm talking about)

So, have a great weekend lovies and I will be back Monday!   Unless I get too lazy...again.

Also I promise, I am at least half awake while writing this.  This post totally makes sense.
