Frugal Friday Yo*

Should we start this Friday off with a little TMI?  

Yes, I think so. 

So since I have entered my 'Womanly Years', I have had phases of horrible cramps and phases of nothing.  Well these last 2 months have been horrible.

Last night?  Oh My Gosling!  Horrible.  I was laying in bed moaning like a woman in labor. After awhile (hoping that the Ibuprofen would eventually kick in) all I wanted was a heating pad.  Well we don't own one.  So I went to the shower, laid down, and shot the water at my stomach for a good 15 minutes.

Some may call it crazy, I call it being resourceful.  And it worked.  Ta Da!!!

Anyways, that is not why we are here today.  So breathe a sigh of relief I am not talking about Frugal Finds on lady products.  But now that I say it, it probably wouldn't be that bad to save some money on things like that...

Ok, now I am just getting off track.

The other day I ventured (it's always a venture with a child in tow) to Target and a few other places and find some awesome clearance stuff.  I just had to share.

1. love these appetizer plates (a buck a pop)
2. I'm a little obsessed with these Salt & Pepper shakers.  I think they will just be decorative.
3. It's a outdoor utensil holder but I think you can literally put anything in there like art supplies or makeup.
4. Colorful cups.  58 cents each.

Elf:
Picked up some nail polish: all four cost a total of 4 bucks.  Also wanted to try out their mineral makeup.  I like Bare Escentuals but this is like $30 cheaper!

This actually came from Kohl's a week ago. $5. And what toddler doesn't look cute in a hoodie?

I don't know why but I am in love with that sweater.  I have seen it a few times at Target and finally bought it.  I can see Mason wearing at Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Maybe even layered over the other shirt.

And finally. I got all of these clothes for under $15.  They came from 'Once Upon A Child'.  A goodwill for children if you will.  Out of these 6 pieces of clothing I got Nike shorts and a Ralph Lauren (!!!) shirt for ONE DOLLAR EACH.  Sorry but that just makes my week if not month! 

So there ya go.  My clearance and sale finds.  Now I am going off to celebrate Labor Day weekend with my family.  Have a great one and come back soon now ya hear!!!

Ron. Swanson.

Ok.  Do you know Ron Swanson?  If you don't...you need to.  He is one of the funniest characters on TV ever.   He is on 'Parks & Recreation'.  If you don't watch, I would highly recommend it.  Word of advice?   Watch the first season but don't judge the show on it.  It isn't the best but it is good for background info.  Every season after that?  HILARIOUS.  

Today I am pinning my Ron Swanson pins.  And I hope they make you laugh.  Especially if you read them in his voice.

Do you agree or what?!  If you watched 'Will & Grace' this is Megan Mullally's (Karen) real life husband.  They actually met on the 'W & G' set when he plays a plumber at Will's parent's house after Karen gets the OK to cheat on her husband who is in jail.

Attack of the Bath

This summer we did what dogs fear of.   Gave them a bath.  Do you know any pets that like baths?  They look so pitiful and sad.  It breaks your heart.  But also makes you laugh because they are so dramatic.

Ally:  Please help me.

No really.  Why aren't you  helping me?

Brother's turn.  Bailey:  I will look at you, but I don't like you right now.

Please adopt us.  We want parents who won't bathe us.  We are so unhappy today.

What a sad life my dogs lead.  How dare we clean them.  Do your pets hate baths?  Or are they the minority that likes them?  If so, please do tell.  I'm curious about them.  My dogs (golden retrievers who are supposed to be duck hunters hate getting wet passed their legs).  What a bunch of weirdos.

So it's been awhile.  Firstly, since I have linked up with Savanah and Ashlee for Phone Photo Fun Mondays, and secondly since I have been around.  Sorry all.  I looked today to find I had lost a follower but I can't blame them...I'm not giving you guys anything to read.  

So today I am back.  Funnily enough, not with stuff to read...but with pictures to look at.  It's Mason themed.  Thought it might start your week of right...or mine.  :)

How is this possible?

Tell me how it is possible to be completely busy but yet have nothing going on?  

I mean I run errands, do the laundry, (try to) clean the house, and pay the bills.  Doesn't sound that hard right?  Well then how come it seems to take up so much of my time?

I don't go out, I don't "work" (as in a 9-5 job), I really don't watch that much TV (during the summer - don't get me started on Fall TV), so where does my time go?  

I have missed blogging and I hate not being caught up.  I feel like I'm failing.  

I do blame the last few days on reading the 50 Shades trilogy.

However I hope to resume blogging regularly.  If not Monday thru Friday then at least 3 times a week.  I really miss the community and feeling like "I'm in the Know"...ya know?

So yeah.  That's it.  No Pictures.  

I'm back to the life of the never ending cycle of a dirty house and a toddler who thinks the best thing in the world is to say NO! to everything.  Try not to be too jealous.

Finally...My take

I am way behind the times but I finally finished the 50 Shades trilogy.  It only took me 3 days, because once I get addicted I can't stop.  

Let's get right into it...

Pros:

*I do love the love story, if you keep reading you really get into it

* The evolution of Christian Grey.  Love it.

Cons:

* Repetitive phrases (my sex, inner goddess, and the worst?  wanton -  i always think of Chinese food)

*It was set in Washington but you could tell it was written by an English person.  Not that that is horrible but you could tell by use of language (like using cinema instead of movie)

*Random Note: The second book is by far my favorite.*

Like everyone else I have ideas of who should play these characters in the movies.  However I have no idea how they are going to make a movie about these books that won't be rated NC-17.

Anastasia Steele: I see her being played by someone who can appear plain but also be multi-dimensional and beautiful.  (also has no qualms about nudity)

Anne Hathaway - my number one pick. I love her.

Natalie Portman

Emily Blunt

 Christian Grey: I see him being played by someone who is majorly good looking (duh!)  but even if you dislike someone you can see how people find them attractive.  I mean Christian Grey makes women blush just by being in their presence.

Liam Hemsworth

James Scott - I know hardly anyone would know him but he is EJ on "Days of our Lives".  The reason I love him as Grey is because I have seen him play a despairing character and a 'better-than-you' type character and he totally pulls it off.

Colin Egglesfield

 Honorable Mention:  Ryan Gosling, I didn't add his picture because I am sure everyone knows what he looks like, but I just don't know if he would be cast.

And finally I heard someone say this would be a good fit for Mrs. Robinson and I sooooo agree.

Kim Cattrall

NO:  Ryan Pattinson or Kristen Stewart  PLEASE NO!

Lucy Hale - I actually love her Pretty Little Liars but I just can't see her bringing the depth that Anastasia needs.

Excuses...And a Swap

So I know, I have no excuse for not being around for so long.  Except just having so many trips, house a mess, and ya know...some other stuff.  So today I am here to share some of the my goodies form a swap I participated in.    Also a note about some games I play. * See Below*

So this is just a PSA to a few of you who may play some games with me. In a week I will be deleting "Scramble With Friends", "Draw Something", and "Family Feud".  I feel like I have wasted too much time on some games that I don't find that fun anymore and I need to let them go. Time with my son, reading, or all around relaxing is just more important.

Oh yeah and I finally started "Fifty Shades of Grey".   Can you say late to the party?

Hi All!  I'm Miranda!  And if you haven't been here before (or you are newer) let me re/introduce myself. 

I am a born and raised Wisconsin girl (which usually means you love beer, cheese, and the Green Bay Packers.)  And that I do.  

I have one of the hardest jobs on the planet.  I am a stay at home mom.  My boss is my 2 year old son Mason.  He is darn cute but the pay is crap.  Oh yeah, I have a husband.  (Don't worry...I actually do love him)

I love pickle juice.  I can't lie.  It's amazing.  (And I recommend adding some vodka for a new interesting shot.)

Jeopardy is my source of information. And Alex Trebek is a star in my eyes.  Proof of that here.

I am a born again country music listener.

I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world.  I have had 10 page papers written the night before they were due.

My parents call me the son they never had.  (reasons being sports lover, and non-lady like things)

I have two golden retrievers that could pass as horses.

And I  literally almost had a heart attack yesterday while watching the Women's Soccer game.  USA versus Canada.  Very intense game and it couldn't have ended any better!
