Wordless Wednesday

Ok so maybe there are a few words...this was actually taken on my birthday July 25th of my son Mason.  He was just too cute with his first time at the beach.  He loved it, especially when he figured out how fun sand was.

Pinterest Wednesday

Ok I am linking up for the first time with the vintage apple for 'Oh, how pinteresting Wednesday'.   I have loved pinterest for awhile by thanks of Sherry at 'Young House Love'.  I have been addicted ever since.  So here are a few of my favorites.  (I was thinking of adding quotes I have loved from there but decided to maybe start my own link up for those someday)

1. I LOVE Harry Potter and this is a ring with HP's glasses...this is a pin I got the most repins for (77!), that's big for me

2 - this makes me laugh every time I see it.  I love that Cee-Lo song "F*** You" and then I saw this and I just couldn't stop laughing...if you love HP, then you find this funny.

3 - as seen by my first day of the 30 Day Challenge (G), I love Johnny Cash and I have been looking for an idea for a new tattoo and so far, i love this one.

4 - i have a crap-ton of wine corks and have been looking for creative ways to use them...this is one of the ideas i have in mind

5 - Yellow has always been my favorite color (my mom said i used to say 'lellow'.  Now grey and yellow are the trend, and I am finding yellow everywhere... and i love it...here are some clothes i wish i had.

6 - I also love organization...actually I am obsessed.  I dream of the day when my family is using a huge calendar!  I know...i'm weird.

30DC Day 5 (F and P)

(G) Day 5: A picture of your favorite memory ...

so far this is my favorite memory to date.  This was taken April 5, 2010 after my c-section (thanks to a stubborn baby who had his head in my ribs instead of his feet).   I think this picture is perfect.  Yes, Mason is crying (that's what babies do), and Guss is wearing a shower cap (safety first!), but I don't look half bad (how the hell did that happen).  Oh, and by the way Mason Scott was  9 lbs 2 ounces, 19 1/2 inches, born at 10:45am.

P- Something you hope to do in your life

I want to take that family pictured above (and maybe another one or two kids) and build our own house on waterfront somewhere.  It can be the Ocean (although I am terrified of Hurricanes, or a lake or a pond.  Whatever.  As long as it's pretty and out my back door.

30DC Day 5 (G)

Jeez, these post titles are sooo boring.  But what are you gonna do?

Day 5 - photo(s) of somewhere you've been to
So again (as stated previously and in my about me, I studied abroad in Wittenberg, Germany and while there Guss came for Spring Break and we went to Rome, and then on Easter break a few classmates and I went to Prague.

Me at the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Myself in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany

And here I am in Prague.

30DC Day 4 (F) TV Night

Day 4: A picture of your night....I am actually copping out and not using a photo I took, but instead some logos, because who really wants to see a picture of me watching TV.

Well, Monday night is all about TV for me...especially this summer.  I thank the heavens for my DVR because I tape 7 (yes 7!!!) shows.  Here are some of my faves...the first one is EXTRA SPECIAL because they are announcing the new cast of 'Dancing With The Stars'!!! Yes, I am that person.  Of course I don't ever think they are 'stars' but they are people you probably have heard about at least once.

Then of course I am joined by some of these old friends.  It's a Monday...that's my excuse.

Other than those shows, I tape House Hunters, House Hunters International, Intervention, and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (of which I actually went to taping of...but that's for some other time.

So...the toddler is in bed (or crib if you prefer), Guss is being obsessive over Fantasy Football stuff, and I get the TV all to myself!

Day 4 (G and P)

Day 4 - your dream career - I think my dream career would be (and what I do now) is stay at home during the day with my kid(s).  It is very exhausting but I love seeing every little new thing my son does.  But something I would love to do someday is own a bar in a small town.  Where you know all your customers and just have fun being at work.

day 4: Something you have to forgive someone for   -  wow this one is hard...I think I have to forgive my mom.  I'm not ready to say what she said, but after I had my son she said something to someone and I heard it and it hurt so bad and I still get tears when I think about it today. The weird thing is my mom has never been like that before.  She is very supportive and great.  But sometimes you just say things...

Day 4 for Foto will come tomorrow (or around Midnight) because it is 'photo of your night' and lets face it...last night I was in my PJs watching the VMAs and drinking beer.

Day Zero Project

So for a while I have wanted to do the "30 before 30" list.  Where you try to accomplish 30 things by the time you turn 30 years old.  But then I discovered the Day Zero Project where you do 101 things in 1001 days.  I figured that was about the same amount of time, AND I am already doing three, yes THREE, 30 Day Blog Challenges so here I am with Day Zero.

My List is here on the Day Zero official website and here on my blog.  I will be blogging about my accomplishments as they happen.  I am excited just to do these.  I know that if I put them out there (even if no one reads this) it would get my ass in gear.

Day 3 (G and P)

Day 3 - three of your biggest passions

My Family - I love my family.  They all drive me nuts and sometimes I can't stand them but they are the best family I'll ever know.  And just so everyone knows - I have 1 dad, 1 mom, 3 sisters (kinda - that's a different story), 1 husband, 1 son, 1 mother-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, 4 nieces, 5 nephews, and 2 golden retrievers.

Art History - I got my Bachelor's Degree in this subject (not a good idea) but I really wanted to get a degree in something I loved.  And I did. And now I have no job. (Besides staying at home with my son - which is a HUGE job)  But I love all kinds of art and learning about it.  I would love to work in a museum someday but it is quite the competitive field and I would need to get my Masters.  Maybe someday.

Travel - I love to travel.  I don't get to do it as much because of money.  (Damn money) but one of my ultimate life goals is to visit all 50 states like my grandparents did.  I have been to quite a few and I did study abroad in Germany (my minor in college was German) for 4 months and while their I went to Rome, Italy, and Prague, Czech Republic (where my mom's family is from).  And of course countless cities in Germany.  But I want to go back! And visit so many more places.  But we'll see.

Day 3: Something have to forgive yourself for
- this one is really hard.  I guess there are 2 that come to mind.  One, I need to forgive myself for gaining a bunch of weight after I had my son.  I am still beating myself up about it but it was bad choices.  When I was pregnant I had Gestational Diabetes and I couldn't eat anything a pregnant woman (or me as a pregnant woman) craved.  No more spaghetti, cookies, french fries and the worse - no more ice cream.  I am not a sweets person, unless I am pregnant and I was eating ice cream every night.  So I stopped eating them for my health and the health of my son but after he was born...I had someone bring me a large order of McDonald's fries and I guess I just never stopped. I was telling myself I was making up for lost time.  And now that he is almost 17 months old, I can't blame it on "I just had a baby - and it was a c-section".   The second thing I have to forgive myself for I won't write much about because it's a little too personal/embarrassing and I'm not there yet.  I just made some not-so-great choices from the ages of 13-15 and then 19-21.  Regarding my relationships and my body.  But I am different now and we would all be boring if we didn't some sort of secret or past.  (or that is just what I tell myself)

Day 3 (F)

Day 3: A picture of the cast from your favorite TV Show.  Again I can not just pick one so my absolutely favorite shows ever are: 'Friends' .  I can tell you what happens in every episode and sadly I can say their line before they do.  Then there is 'I Love Lucy'.  I have loved this show since I was in middle school and have collected Lucy stuff all my life.  It is a little weird when a 7th graders favorite show was in the 1950's, but this show is special and now I own all seasons on DVD.  Lastly there is 'Dexter'.  I didn't start watching the show till Season 3 was about to come out but we watched the first three seasons within a few days.  It is graphic, disturbing, and there is nudity but it is smart, suspenseful, and yes, even funny.  If you haven't watched it I recommend you do.  Even if you don't think it would be your kind of show, I have yet to meet or hear of anyone who didn't like it.  Plus Michael C. Hall isn't too bad looking either.  He plays creepy well. :)

I have 2 honorable mentions as well.  I also love 'Will & Grace' and 'Parks & Recreation', both are hilarious, but I figured I should have just narrowed it down to at least three!

Things Loved In August

I know it isn't quite the end of August but I figured, oh well.  I plan to do this every month to kind of recap my favorite things of the past few weeks.

1. Pinterest

I am sure a lot of people have heard of this by now but I am in complete love with this site.  It is so addicting and so nice.  I am constantly on that website.

2. Crazy/Stupid/Love

Saw this movie with my BCF (best cousin forever) Katie when she came to visit (see number 4) and I loved it.  I was afraid it wouldn't be very good because every time I think a movie will be hilarious, it sucks.  But I was pleasantly surprised.  Yes, it had the cheesy moments every romantic comedy has but overall it was hilarious.  Plus it had Ryan Gosling in it...which you know I love.

3. Intervention - I feel guilty liking this show because it shows some really bad struggles and hard times for the people involved.  I really feel for them and it is sad I find it so entertaining but it also puts in the perspective why I would never, NEVER do drugs...it causes so much pain, hurt, and of course affects your health.  But a little confession...sometimes I have a beer or glass of wine while watching it and I feel bad.  Especially if it's about an alcoholic.

4. Visit from my cousin Katie - On my mom's side I have 15 cousins.  It wasn't until my Grandpa Kovar died that we became so close.  We really bonded at his funeral and even though it was sad circumstances I think he would be really happy how close all the cousins are now.  But the one I have connected with the most was my cousin Katie who is just a year younger than me.  We are so alike and can relate on so many levels (having 2 older sisters), and we just can say anything to each other.  She came and visited and we had dinner and went to the movies (see number 2) and then talked until 3:30 in the morning (even though I had to be up at 7:15 to babysit and then take care of my own child.  But it was worth it.  These are pictures of us in the last 2 years.

Day 2 (P and F)

Killing two birds with one stone here and doing my other 30 Day Challenges Day 2 at once.  I need to spread them out from now on.  So...

Day 2: Something you love about yourself - I have to say one of the things I do love about myself (or strongly like) is that I am a good listener.  Usually if you ask someone what they like about me that is on the top of their list.  I like listening to people and finding out things about them and trying to help them with their problems.  My first major is college was Psychology but as much as I love it, I just don't think I have the brain for something that, um, 'academic'.

Day 2: A picture of you and the person you have closest with the longest - This is my oldest friend Danielle.  I feel like I am closer with some people, like my husband, my sisters, and my BCF (best cousin forever) Katie but I have known and been friends with Danielle since I was 7 or 8.  She came to Chuckie Cheese for my 8th birthday party.  We have drifted apart and then together again but I have also known she was there for me.  I would have never been in Soccer if it wasn't for her and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding.  She is definitely one of those friends where we don't talk for like 6 months or even a year and we can pick back up where we left off.  And I really feel that makes a true friend.

Day 2 (G)

Day 2 - your favorite actors/actresses

I call my favorite actors "The Ryans"  First is Ryan Gosling...loved him in 'Crazy/Stupid/Love' and he can do serious soooo good.  Then there is Ryan Reynolds.  He is hilarious in all his movies and well, have you SEEN him?

Then there are my favorite actresses.  I have loved Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock forever because they seem so down to earth and wholesome.  And my newest is Emma Stone.  She is so funny and I loved 'Easy A'.  If you haven't seen it then you should.

My First "Fill in the Blank Friday"

Linking up and doing my first 'Fill In The Blank Friday' from the little things we do

1.   One of life's most simple pleasures is     the sound of your child laughing .

2.    People who don't use their blinkers      makes me want to punch someone.(them)

3.  I like    wine   because,    it makes me feel fancy :)  .

4.    lallygagging   is a funny word.

5.  If I had to choose one beauty product to use for the rest of eternity it would be    mascara...i use it everyday because my eyelashes are so light .

6.  I'm happy that    Regular season football games are about to start - Go Packers!    .

7.  I would never     mow a lawn (one of my weird life goals)    .

Day 1 (P)

Day 1:  Something you hate about yourself

Hmmm...well unfortunately I don't like a lot of things about myself but the absolute worse is I have no willpower whatsoever.  NONE.  I am always that person to have just one more piece of bread, or one more helping, or one more beer, or just one more show to watch before I go to sleep.  And I always end up regretting it.  I get so full I can't move, hungover, or wishing I could sleep just an hour longer.  However with a 16 month old child that is just not happening.  The thing is I never learn.  I have been trying to work on my willpower for so long now and I'm not getting anywhere.  Well...hopefully someday.

I will post each one soon.
