Holiday Decor

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Today for the Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge is all about decorations/decor!  So I am behind (compared to some people) and don't have any up.  But I will share what I do put up every year.

1. A Christmas Tree.  This year we are debating putting one up with a toddler in the house.  Last year he wasn't crawling yet and hopefully next year he will listen better (I pray about it everyday).

2. Stockings.  Like mentioned yesterday, the first thing we get to do is open Stockings so I love putting them up.  And of course filling them with candy and other goodies.  Even the dogs have their own stockings.

3. Ornaments.  One thing I discovered in a magazine awhile ago is to put ornaments in a vase or bowl.  I do this every year and I get compliments on it.  And it is so simple.

4. Reindeer.  I am obsessed with Moose & Reindeer.  You will find them on our tree, as table decorations, hanging up, and even as our napkin holder.  I can't wait to someday have a cabin and just decorate it in Moose & Reindeer decor.  It is a weird dream...but it's all mine!

Christmas Traditions...

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Today, for the fabulous Holiday Blog challenge with Neely & Amber, we are talking about our favorite holiday traditions, new and old.

The new one I want to create with Mason and Guss is all about PJ's.  I want to open new Pajamas as a present every Christmas Eve that we all wear the next day.

The old?  Every Christmas with my parents, sisters, and husbands we do a few things.

1. We always open our stockings first.
2. We sit there for the next hour or so putting together the kids' toys.
3. We play board games.
4. We fight.  It is actually a funny game we play.  We count how many times we have a mini/big fight.  That is just my family.

FYI: These are old pics from past Christmas' and not posed :)

Our Christmas tree after we open our stockings.  (my parents like to go with the small tree)
Putting the toys together.
Playing games...anticipating the fights. :)

Moo !!!

So yeah, yesterday I said I would be posting twice in a day but my phone/computer pictures wouldn't work so I have to wait till next Monday.  But maybe the rest of the week. :)

So awhile ago I finally got my Mini-Moo cards from the Klout perks! :)  They are so cute!  I couldn't decide what to do with them but Kasey recommended sending them in future swaps.  I just love them.

I went with the green ones and my cards have all my information.  They say:

Miranda @ Aimless Translation
diesunddas33.blogspot.com

mlco5775@gmail.com
twitter.com/randy33

Yep, that's it.  Please don't be disappointed.  There is more to come later.  I pinkie swear.

Fabulous Blog Challenge

So usually by today I have a bunch of posts scheduled.  However this weekend I gave in to the peer pressure.  I started watching "How I Met Your Mother".  I have the Internet streaming Netflix and I have started from episode one.  So all day Saturday and most the day Sunday I have been stuck to my Ipad.  Don't worry my son was taken care of....that is why I have a husband. :)

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Anyways, this Holiday season I am going to link up for two weeks with Neely & Amber for their Fabulous Blog Challenge!  Most days I will be posting twice so please make sure you come back to check them out! :)  I love this season so I just had to link up with them for this!  Today the topic is your Favorite Gift Received Ever!

Well I already have this gift.  I actually got my Ipad2 this summer but my husband said this was my Christmas present.  And I am OK with that.  I love it...It is actually unhealthy how much I love it.  But at least I admit it.  No meetings for me. :)

Only thing I would change?  I really wanted the black one but they were out...so I ended up with the white.  Oh well, it still works the same.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Since I am sure a lot of people won't be reading blogs today (unless you don't celebrate Thanksgiving which is OK of course)  I am just doing a quick post!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and hopefully a great long weekend!  (If you get one!)

Just So You Know......

...if you have ever commented on my blog and you didn't get a response back, it is not from lack of trying.

Many other blogs have posted this information...a PSA, if you will. However, I am going to post it again.

I pretty much respond to every comment that gets posted on my blog (of course there is probably a few that slip between the cracks).  So again if you have ever commented here and I haven't responded that means you are known as the "noreply-comment".  Which means I can't return the love.

So the good thing?  It's easy to fix!  Just make sure your email address is enabled in your profile!  How do you do it?  I'm glad you asked.

Go to your blogger dashboard, click edit profile, then make sure to check the box that says show my email address.  Then scroll down to where it says identity and make sure your email address is the one you'd like to get replies to!  (info from Kasey and her comment page) *BOOM* your done :)

So please don't think I am ignoring your comments!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

Today I am linking up for another edition of "Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday" with Michelle!!!

Today I am showing some pins from my DIY board.  There are so many great things on Pinterest to do but here are just a few!

I will use this when my son gets older:  If your kid says they are bored they pick a slip out of the jar and have to do what it says.  It could be "go for ice cream" or it could be "clean your room".
Love this idea:  Frame, paint, hooks and a simple wooden box.
VHS Tape box and a picture = a secret hiding spot!!!!
A canvas with lyrics from your first wedding dance together.  Ours?  The Beatles "In My Life"
Wrap photo frames for cheap cute Christmas decor.
Weekly calendar idea - dry erase.
Anniversary date idea...I had to do this with my name for college so I love this idea!!!

Hope you enjoy my pins!  Have any of you done these ideas or have a great DIY idea?

Introducing Bailey & Ally

I realize after these few months of blogging I have never formally introduced my doggies.  We have 2 Golden Retrievers.  Growing up we only had 2 dogs and they were shelties.  They aren't bad dogs but I always wanted that family favorite Golden Retriever.  I just love big dogs.  Well I didn't want to buy from an exclusive breeder or a pet store (puppy mill dogs :(  ) but finally in the paper I found Golden Retriever puppies for only $125.  Usually pure breeds are up to $500 but these ones didn't have papers.  I didn't care because I wouldn't be breeding or showing the dog.

Bailey Eldon -  May 31, 2004
When I went to go pick him up there was only 2 males left and for some reason that's what I wanted.  His brother bit my nose but Bailey was licking me like crazy.  He was the one.
Loves: Squirrel chasing, food, being territorial
Hates: Cuddling

Ally Tuesday - May 8, 2007
After I got back from studying abroad in Germany I really wanted another dog.  So I looked again and found a farm where the price for a female would be $150.  Turns out it was the same farm and it would be the same dad as Bailey!  So they are truly brother and sister.
Loves: Cuddling, Sleeping in strange positions
Hates: Not getting attention

Bailey loves attention but hates cuddling, even when he was a puppy he wouldn't sleep on the bed with me.  When Ally came along he was not impressed (see first picture below) but then he got used to cuddling...but only with his sister.  He doesn't like us or Mason cuddling with him but Ally will just lay there and let Mason climb all over her.

Love the pictures of them together below.  Christmas, Snuggling, and Ally draping her leg over Bailey

Not going to lie, after having a child they have become more annoying (especially with the hair and dirt/mud/leaves they bring in)  but I still wouldn't trade them for anything.  They are my first-born babies :)

Help A Blogger Out!!!

Yes this is my third post today and I am sorry.  However I wanted to post the swap ones on the same day and I definitely couldn't pass up helping out Tara! Her blog is one of my absolute favorites so if you don't follow her yet...do it!  (At last count she only needs 29 more!!!)

And since I am somewhat computer illiterate I don't know how to post the code to share the love.  So please go to Mrs Monologues to get it!  But don't forget to click here to follow her!

101 in 1001 swap

Welcome back!!!  Today I am also posting my 101 in 1001 swap from the fabulous Holly!

And to find out more about the swap read this from Holly's blog.

My partner was Alex!  She is from Washington and sent me some really great things to help me accomplish my 101 in 1001 list (aka Day Zero Project)

1.  #8 - she sent me some papers I can use to record my family's history and some great websites as well
2.  #12 - she sent me some colorful chalk I can use on the chalkboard wall I make eventually
3.  #70 - A pre-made and pre-addressed postcard for Post Secret
4.  #60 - Stamps for my postcards for my post crossing goal.

Thanks so much Alex! These will for sure help me complete my list!!!

Scarf & Nail Polish Swap

Today is the first of two posts about some swaps I participated in recently.
This one I participated in was a scarf and nail polish swap brought to you by the lovely ladies Jessie Renee & Ashlee.

My swap partner was Angela.  If you don't follow her already please go check her out!!!
I think she exceeded my expectations and I loved my gifts!  Besides the scarf and nail polish she threw in some other cute gifts as well including this super cute gold bag that everything came in!

Here is a list of all my great things!
1. Cute little 'laugh out loud' sign
2. Nail polish remover
3. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Polish - Save the Date.  I love the color!  I actually painted my nails with it the day I got it!
4. Creamy Tahitian Coconut scented wax cubs...The smell makes me want to be on a beach with a pina colada!!!
5. Post-It Notes...I actually use post-its all the time so this is perfect for me
6. My scarf.  I am so in love with this scarf.  I wear so much gray and it has an animal-ish print.  And it is hard to see in the pictures but it has sparkles (and not obnoxious sparkles)
7. Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows!  This is some of my favorite hot chocolate and you can't go wrong with Marshmallows in it!

Thank you so much Angela!  This was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!  Click here to find out what I got her!

Please Don't Post This On Facebook!

I actually have been struggling about whether to post this because I don't want to seem like a bitch but I did protect this person's identity and face.  Plus this is just like a PSA about how not to talk on facebook!!!

Someone I am friends with on facebook posted this as her status.  I tried to preserve their identities (even though she did put this on Facebook!)

Here is what is wrong:
1) the spelling
2) the personal information
3) her husband (who she is talking about) is ON facebook!
4) Ewww!

I'm sorry this just disturbed me too much not to post!
*note: I happened to check and she did delete it.  But if you post something on the Internet...it is there forever*
(sorry if it hurts your eyes to read it...couldn't get it any bigger)

Weekend Words . 2 .

I'm back for my second week of Weekend Words.  If you want to know all about it please click here.

This week I am going the more light-hearted route since last week was a bit more serious.  I think I will try and alternate every other week.  Enjoy and Have a Great Weekend!!!

I truly imagine my husband saying this about me...in an affectionate way of course :)
So true...but I think this pertains to everyone.

This just makes me laugh every time...

Fill it in...but don't forget to come back later!!!

Sorry I had no post yesterday...I spent the day cleaning (no fun) and catching up on reading some blogs (a lot more fun than cleaning)  So now...

Fill it in with Lauren today!!!

1.   A nervous habit I have is     shaking my legs (even though I do that everyday) and picking at my cuticles   .

2.   Something that makes me sad is   bullying...recently read an article about a 10 year old that committed suicide because of bullying...how horrible and how do 10 years old know how to commit suicide!!!     .

3.  Today I am thankful for    my son who knows how to make me smile even when I'm mad at him and heat...I know not everyone has heat in their home    .

4. My favorite room in my house is    my living room where my big comfy couch and soft blanket are (oh and my tv)  .

5.  I can't stand    rude people...they are just everywhere nowadays  .

6.  If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would    actually buy Christmas presents for family. Mason is the only one getting presents this year from us because we are poor (wah wahhhh) .

7.  The last person I hung out with was    my friend Candis...we went to her mom's house and played scrabble for three hours...it wasn't too shabby :)  .

Happy Friday! But I would appreciate it if you came back later today for some Weekend Words Link-Up :)

Wordless(ish) Wednesday

Watching "Elmo's World" with concentration (and Elmo)
Then he went and found the smaller Elmo in his toy box to join the party
Then Murray joined the 'Sesame Street' party.
Now I'll watch on my BFF Ally
"I don't care if she's sleeping, I still want to snuggle"
"Hmmm...what should I order from B-Dubs?"

Target Tuesday

Today I decided to revisit "Target Tuesday" with Tara over at Fabulous but Evil

I am all about cozy and warm in the winter, and am obsessed with cardigans anytime of the year.  So here are some of my favorite warm weather Target items :)

This one is called the Grandpa Cardigan...and I find it more appealing because of the name :)
This just says Fall Semester in College to me
Love all the colors!
This would be a great Holiday dress with a long-sleeved shirt underneath with some leggings and boots
I do own some Uggs but these looks super comfy and I love the buttons

I wish I owned all of these!  Have a great Tuesday!
