So Many Clothes

So it was a good weekend for Packer fans.   They beat the Lions at home continuing a big record of winning against them at Lambeau.

Now they are 2-2.   Not exactly the perfect standings but hopefully we continue to win....hopefully.

In other football news, my Fantasy team.   I can't do anything right.

My first pick this year was Tom Brady.   Score, right?  No.  He's been letting me down week after week.  Yesterday he didn't throw any touchdowns (breaking his streak)   and threw an interception.   Personally I don't like him but I can't deny he's good....usually.

Also Anquan Boldin.   I put him on the bench, he puts up like 25 fantasy points.   When I play him?   One week he got me 2 and this week less than 10.   So it's safe to say, I'm not doing so hot.

Today I wanted to share some Packers gear.    I posted this last year for Wildcard weekend (post here) from Polyvore.

These are some of the things on my wish list this year.
(Click picture for link)

I love me some hoodies.

I love all things comfortable.

And just something that blows my mind.  I mean, I usually love all things Packer/football but come on.  A toaster?   For 40 bucks!   I think I will save the $40 and eat my toast without a G on it thank you very much!

Well have a good one lovies.   Linking up with the fab Kristine today!

TV Addiction Is A Real Thing

Well Well Well Monday...you have arrived again.   I'm okay with that because that means tomorrow is Tuesday and my son can go to school again and stop bugging me about going there.  Happy thoughts people.  :)

This should come as no shock that I love TV.  And I love summer for the obvious reasons but fall?   Football?  New TV Shows?  The ability to wear jeans without sweating your ass off.    Pretty nice.

Some returning shows I love:

Scandal

Modern Family
Nashville
Amazing Race
How I Met Your Mother

Criminal Minds (disturbing episode)
Parks and Rec - always funny
Law & Order: SVU

Some new shows I am looking forward to watching:

Sean Saves The World - I loved Jack from "Will & Grace"

New shows I am liking so far.

Anna Faris is crazy.  And funny.

Other news:

Right now my head is exploding about:

- Breaking Bad
- Dexter

And finally - LOVING

Orange is the New Black
* super crazy show but I love it.   And it grosses me out sometimes lol.

Anyways, this was the Packers bye weekend.   Sad face.   Can't wait till next week though!  Did your football team win this weekend??  Are you excited for the return of fall TV?  Any shows you watched that you loved?

Linking up today with the FABULOUS Leeann.

What's in a name?

The Vintage Modern Wife: Say My Name Link Up

A blog name that is.

Today I am linking up with Amber and 2 other bloggers to share the background of my blog name.

-------------------------

I have actually had a post similar to this in my drafts forever so I'm glad I finally got the kick to post it.

My blog url and actual title may be a little confusing to some. (and well to me too)

I was at a loss for what to name it and I wanted it to be different.  I'm not knocking any one's blog name but I wanted something no one else had or would probably never come close to.

Aimless Translation
(often wrongly called Aimless Transition).

 We could take it literally:

Aimless -
 Without purpose or

 direction.

Translation -  a change to a

 different substance, form, or

appearance

Or philosophically:

Trying to figure out life and other

things.  Not knowing where you are

going.

The actual URL -
diesunddas33.  or dies und das 33.

dies und das is German for this and that and 33 is my favorite number.
I wanted to incorporate German because of how important it is to me and I knew my blog would be random...a bit of this and that.

So that is my strange and long way of how I came up with my blog name.  Maybe someday I'll change it, or maybe I'll keep it to confuse everyone.  :)

How did you come up with your name?  Link up or let me know...I find this kind of thing very interesting!

A little Monday morning gossip.

Linking up with one of my fave bloggers  Leeann, and her fun new link-up.  :)

So here is the run down of the last few days in Mirandaland.  (it's a real place ya'll)

* We tackled our basement.  When we started it looked like an episode of hoarders.  Minus the dead cats.

Not our house.  That would be disgusting.

* We made a snowman.   Mason named him Hat.   Everyday Mason gets up and waves hi to Hat.

* Tomorrow my husband gets his yearly bonus.  Besides paying some people back, paying some bills, and taking the dogs to vet, you better believe I already have items in my online carts for Target & Old Navy.  And we are going to lunch at Chipotle!

* Finally watched "Pitch Perfect" for the first time.  It was pretty good.  And I'm watching "Magic Mike" after 'The Bachelor  tonight.  I heard it doesn't have the best story line but I gotta see what all the hype is about.

* We only have 6 episodes left in Season 4 of 'Breaking Bad'.   I'm still obsessed.   With the show...and Aaron Paul.

Well it turns out my weekend wasn't terribly exciting.  But that is no problem.

Have a great Weekend Recovery Day Monday & Link Up with Leeann!

Friday Fluffiness & Future

So today I have a whole bunch of different stuff.  Some facts about me and a look of what's to come on this little 'ol bloggy.

My ultimate favorite color is yellow.  Followed by brown and gray.

My favorite singer of all time is Johnny Cash.   Especially the song "Cry Cry Cry"

Number One TV Show: I have so many TV shows I love but my absolute favorite?   "I Love Lucy"  I was the kid who watched Nick at Nite.  I wrote reports, read all kinds of books, and collect/ed Lucy merchandise.

I would love to be able to design/sew clothes or be an interior designer.

I would never want to be a singer.  Reasons?  If you lose your voice you are screwed, you have one bad concert/song everyone hears about it.

What's to come? (using the months things happened as a guide)

February:  More on the Midwest blogger meet up (hoping to make a survey of sorts) and an awesome giveaway.

March/April:  Pregnancy, Birth Story, and hoping for a new blog design.

Yes my son is wrapped in a pink blanket.  The pediatrician in the operation room wasn't told the sex of our baby.

May: Studying abroad in Germany and High School/Graduation

June: Finally sharing our dating and engagement stories.

July: Our wedding.

And some other things: like my family and why am I drinking milk out of the gallon.

Yeah.  So much to tell, so lazy to write it.  :)

Have a great weekend Lovies.

My Decorations - Christmas Exploded

Linking up for the last day with Katie & Holly.

Home for the Holidays.

Let's just get right to it.  These are some really piss-poor photos.  Thank you iPhone.

Each picture has it's own description.  It details the good and the sad.  (See drunk Christmas tree below.)

Our sad sad tree.  Half the lights are out.  And Guss says out tree is drunk.  (Notice the leaning) We bought all the ornaments and lights when we were (even poorer) newlyweds after Christmas.  It needs some upgrading.  But I still love like it.

Below is Jim Gaffigan talking about Holiday Tradiations.  The first part is just about Christmas but the whole thing is hilarious.

Our awesome Ikea bookcase.   3 rows taken up by a monster named Mason.   I get the top shelf, the one he can't touch.  (BTW - excuse that glass of wine and those wall decorations are gonna go.  They were there pre-Ikea-awesomeness.)

Vase full of ornaments, JOY from the Target dollar spot, and plates turned decorations from Target.

On the left is actually a Christmas card that is framed, and the one on the right is ripped from a magazine.  (tip from Young House Love)

Blurry but cute.  Our stockings.  From top Guss, mine, & Mason's.

Above the TV.  (funny story I just typed above the law?  um what subconscious?) The clock is always set at 6 o'clock.  It was a wedding gift that just won't stay working.  But I love it.  (and yes that is a Packer Santa)

Decoration courtesy of Katie.

Favorite decoration?  Christmas lights.  I am so sappy that I actually almost cried when all the lights and tree were on.  Ah, I'm so sensitive.

There ya go folks.  Next year I hope to go even bigger and better! But for this year it will do, and it's ours.

See you next week?   Promise.

My Home - No Place Like It

Linking up for Day 4 of Holly's and

Katie's Link up.

My Favorite Things About Home

* warning somewhat bad language below (way below) *

Hometown:
see here

Town I currently reside in:

The free zoo that also has a Christmas light village.
The river and Phoenix Park where the farmer's market is.
The college I graduated from.
Home of the 2 time Grammy winning band Bon Iver.  (we got a shout out in their acceptance speech as well)

My actual home:

I actually own it.  I can do whatever

I want with it.  Come back tomorrow for

 the Christmas decorations (which I

accidentally said was coming today)

State:

We have some of the best sports fans ever (Milwaukee Brewers, Badgers, & the Packers)

I have read many books from football players and they all praise Lambeau field for being one of the best.  Especially for fans.

The Midwest if a very polite, down to earth place to live.

We stay away from many natural disasters!   That what happens when you are smack dab in the middle of your country.

That's it.  Hope I kept you somewhat entertained. :)
